You get up to 30 minutes of uninterrupted massage with the option to add more time before the session ends. If you like Thai massage where extreme pressure is applied while stretching, then this will be right up your alley. Yoga Stretch ProgramĪlthough most chairs in this price range has a stretching program one way or the other, this one here probably does it best with its ‘larger pull area’.Ĭomparable to that of a professional therapist’s hands, it squeezes the feet and legs before pulling them down towards the ground while the backrest pulls your core (upper body) back into the recline position. This is similar to that of a recliner chair, except with the additional benefits that is of zero gravity - better blood circulation, relaxation, and a deeper more effective massage to name a few. What this means is that you get to recline yourself into the most comfortable position, and angle, of your choice. This chair allows you to control the reclining of the back and legs SEPARATELY, thanks to its dual reclining motors. You see, a lot of other chairs, including the ones we’ve reviewed thus far here, have only 3 built-in recline positions. The iRest does this feature quite differently, to say the least. In terms of massage quality, we will say its mechanism provides a healthy medium to deep tissue massage. It uses rather dated airbags to provide air-cell massages and while we wouldn’t call this a ‘flaw’, it is definitely something to be improved at. This is not to say that the LM6800 is not without any flaws. The air cells are programmed to inflate separately which causes the body to twist and deep stretch. It ultimately brings up the massage quality and performs quieter. Uniquely designed air cell massage system can cover most of the surface area with a minimal number of air cells. This is great, again for those suffering chronic pain (one of the best home chair for lower back pain) or if you work in a profession that requires you to be on your feet most of the time, the heated calf and foot massage could easily be your most favourite aspect of the chair. Although it is advertised as lumbar and leg heating function only, we find that the heat actually covers most of the lower half of the back. It is also worthy to mention that Kahuna offers extensive heat coverage - both at the back and calf region. What this means is that aside from massaging your neck and back, the quad rollers that the chair is equipped with will go all the way down to under the seat of the chair via a specially designed L-track frame to massage both your glutes and the back of your thighs. It certainly is not something new or exceptional but within this price range, it is pretty rare to have a massage chair that comes with a hybrid L/S Track. To be very honest, we’re surprised (albeit pleasantly) that a chair at this price range has this to offer. If, for some reason, you don’t feel that the right spot is being massaged at, don’t worry, the LM6800 allows you to manually adjust the rollers to be where you want them to. After taking a scan of your body, it will make subtle adjustments to both the position of the rollers and the width of the massage field so that it can hit the accurate pressure points. One great feature in the $2,000 and above category, usually, is that you’ll get a computerized full body scan feature. It gives targeted and proportion area massage mostly at the back so you can say it is a massage chair for back pain. If you have read our review here, you will know how beneficial shiatsu massage is so it is definitely a plus to find this chair, at this price point, equipped with this advanced technique here. There are altogether 5 manual massage techniques - the basic kneading, tapping, a combination of both, rolling and delightfully, shiatsu.
